GRAMMY-NOMINATED PRODUCERS CARVIN & IVAN TEAMS WITH “R&B SPOTLIGHT”

Multi-platinum duo to produce R&B compilation album

NEW YORK, NY (August 16, 2012) — Carvin “Ransum” Haggins and Ivan “Orthodox” Barias, the multi-platinum talented masterminds and driving force of Philly-based Karma Productions, will partner with the “R&B Spotlight” brand to produce a compilation album.

Carvin and Ivan, as the duo is often referred in the music industry, have produced and written mega hits for Musiq Soulchild, S.W.V, Keyshia Cole, The Roots, Jill Scott, Lil’ Wayne, Ledisi and Faith Evans. Having recently hosted the August edition of “R&B Spotlight,” an exclusive “live” monthly showcase featuring upcoming and national recording artists, the duo was inspired to create a new project.

R&B Spotlight is hosted monthly at the legendary BB King’s Blues & Grill located in the heart of Times Square. Chart-topping superstars have recently headlined “R&B Spotlight,” hosted at the legendary BB King’s venues, including Kenny Lattimore, S.W.V, R.L. of 90’s R&B group Next; Meelah of 702, and Sisqo, lead singer of multi-platinum group Dru Hill.

The purpose of R&B Spotlight is to open the curtain of opportunity for the next superstars to be discovered. Amateurs are given a “platform” to showcase their talents and gain local and national exposure in the R&B community. The event is streamed live for the world to see, thus expanding the audience beyond the walls of the venue.
